VCF Foundation receive 'Premio Solidarios 2019' award

The ONCE social group in the Valencia region held their annual 'Premios Solidarios' awards ceremony on Tuesday evening at Elche's Gran Teatro, and the VCF Foundation were one of the award winners.
The 'Institutión, Organización Entidad y ONG' (Institution, Organisation, Entity and Charity) prize was given to the VCF Foundation for its contribution, through sport, to improving self esteem, communication, confidence, inclusion, respect, tolerance and other values amongst collectives at risk of social exclusion.
Accepting the award on behalf of the VCF Foundation were patrons VCF Salvador Belda and Salvador Martínez, and director general Pablo Mantilla.
As part of the COR Blanquinegre philosophy, the organisation have increased the number of young beneficiaries from their 'Escoles' school programme by 1,000, with more than 50 centres running at the same time. In this scheme, Valencia CF is used as an educational and motivational tool at set schools and centres for children in underprivileged neighbourhoods.
The new VCF Inclusivo project is carrying on the good work by what was previously VCF DI. Made up of persons with intellectual handicaps, VCF Inclusivo will be boosted by training sessions and games with players from the VCF Femenino Academy, under the banner of 'Football for all'.
Other award winners at the ceremony were:: Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, Marina García (CV Radio FM), José Abargues and Horno Ecológico Ecologicval. These prizes are given to those persons, businesses, charities, entities and institutions, programmes and initiatives that, in the opinion of the judging panel, have priorities in their daily work of: solidarity, inclusion for those at risk of exclusion, and fighting against inequality and for fundamental rights.
